One of the benefits of living and working in London is the ease in getting to the many museums and galleries located in this city. Seeing that the Victoria and Albert Museum is having an exhibition of the work by the photographer Horst, it is relatively easy to investigate the show – Horst: Photographer of Style.
Not knowing much about his work but being drawn in by a poster, I went to the museum today and picked up the book Horst Highlights that accompanies the exhibition.
The clean simplicity of Horst’s work and his expert use of shadow is something that has to be admired. The combination of technical and artistic skills is something I’m sure many photographers aspire to.
I don’t know if I will have the time to go round the exhibition which ends on 4 January 2015. I do hope so.
